What is a triathlon?
A triathlon is an event with 3 parts: first you swim, then you ride a bike, and last you run (or walk). Yes, you do all 3!
How do I register?
Registration will close Friday, September 5 at midnight (or when event is full). There will be day-of registration.

I am not a good swimmer. Can I still participate?
Safety is the number one concern in this event. If you are uncertain that you can not finish the required distance, we suggest you practice or take swim lessons prior to the event.
Will this be a timed event?
Each runner will not be tagged, but there will be clocks running. Individuals can track their own time.
What is a transition?
Transition is when you change from one activity to the next. There will be an area set up near the pool where you will leave your bike and everything you need for the bike ride and run.
Can parents help their kids in transition or on the course?
The idea of this race is to promote self confidence. However, if your child is in need of special assistance at transition areas that is okay too.
My child has special needs. Can s/he participate?
Yes, if you think s/he can do it. If your child has special needs and needs a support person in order to participate, please e-mail the race director at [email protected] so we are aware of the situation. You are responsible for finding a support person for your child.

I still have questions. Who do I ask?
E-mail the race director at [email protected]
My child wants to try the race, but he is not super athletic and has never done a triathlon. Are these races only for experienced athletes?
Absolutely not! The race is designed to be a fun, enjoyable event! Whether your child is new to the concept of a youth triathlon, or has participated in previous years, we aim to make it enjoyable, as well as a true learning experience! No prior triathlon experience is necessary.
Is there anything that should be done before race day to help my child prepare?
There are a couple things that you can do to get them race ready. Make sure they eat a good healthy meal the night before the race, as well as the morning of the race. This will help fuel their bodies with the energy they need to complete the race feeling good. Also, make sure that they stay hydrated during the days leading up to the race. Make sure their bikes are in good working order; including proper air pressure in their tires and checking that their brakes work properly. Most importantly, set them up for what is sure to be a fun-filled experience. They should have a pair of running/tennis shoes (untied and near their bike), bike helmet, and bike located in the transition area.
